CIUCAŞ PEAK

Ciucaş Peak (Romanian: Vârful Ciucaş) is the highest peak of Ciucaş Mountains, Southern Carpathians. It’s elevation is 1.954 meters(6,411 ft).

If you think to go hiking in Romania, then the Ciucaş Mountains are probably the best solution for an amazing family time. These are scenic and great to hike for all ages, you will encounter great sights, wonderful trails and wild landscapes. You will be able to choose from 12 trails depending on the season and what are your interest points.

From it’s peak you can see a beautiful view both on Barsa Country and Brasov besides you will be able to see the Cheia resort from above.

The main accommodation facilities and access points to the mountain are in Cheia resort, Red Mountain cabin and Ciucaş cabin which can be reached by Bratocea from Brasov. Cheia resort has two hotels and numerous guest houses and Red Mountain Resort include original cabin, built in 1948 and Red Peony cabin plus a discotheque, which is located near the Silva cabin besides that, you can find there a seismic station.

Former cabin “Alexander Vlahuţă” (now known as the “Ciucaş Cabin”) has been completely rebuilt on the same site on Mount Chirusca and operates under three stars. Access is on a paved road that follows the Beer creek, but the last part is accessible only by four-wheel drive cars because very sharp slope and embankment.
